Landlord or agent begins process

Having discussed the deposit return with your landlord or agent, they begin the release process through their mydeposits Scotland online account.

We notify you of the proposed release request.

You will need to confirm your contact details and provide payment details.

You then ‘agree’ with the release request or ‘disagree’ if necessary.

You have 30 working days to respond once you have been notified.

If you ‘agree’ with the landlord or agent’s release request, the deposit will be returned to the relevant parties within five working days.

If you ‘disagree’, you can raise a dispute to resolve the issue. Find out more about the dispute process here.
