mydeposits Scotland – updates to the terms and conditions
The mydeposits Scotland Tenancy Deposit Protection Scheme has now entered its third year.
Our aim is to provide all our Users with the best possible service, and to ensure you comply with the law. With new challenges and issues arising we have reviewed and updated our Terms and Conditions to ensure we achieve our aim.
We have created a new document entitled the Conditions of Deposit Disputes. This document is an addendum to the mydeposits Scotland Terms and Conditions which our Users and Tenants agree to abide by in relation to Deposit Disputes dealt with by the Scheme.
The Conditions of Deposit Disputes has been introduced to better support both Users and Tenants throughout the dispute process, by offering guidance on timescales and criteria, and to further explain how an Adjudicator will make a decision on the case.
Changes to the previous edition of the Terms and Conditions are:
- A1 has been slightly reworded to include reference to the Conditions of Deposit Disputes.
- Section E – Disputes between User and Tenant over the release of the Deposit has also been reworded to refer our Members to our Conditions of Deposit Disputes.
- Section F – Alternative Dispute Resolution & Section G – Review of Adjudication has been removed from our Terms and Conditions and are now set out in our Conditions of Deposit Disputes.
As a mydeposits Scotland User, you have confirmed that you have read and agree to abide by the latest version of the Terms and Conditions.
